Sam Body
Jerry Samuel “Sam” Body, 59, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024.
He was born on August 14, 1965 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sam was raised in the Chattanooga–North Georgia area. He graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in 1983. He was of the Baptist faith, a truck driver for Red Food (Bi-Lo), assembly worker for Volkswagen, and, most recently, a driver for McDaniel Trucking. Sam had a passion for dirt track racing in his younger years. He also enjoyed classic cars, working in his garage, riding on his tractor, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Comer and Cora Hanks; and paternal grandparents, Hoyt and Laselle Body.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Rhonda Body; mother, Marilyn Sue (Steve) Yarbrough; father, Jerry C. Body; son “Little fella”, Hayden Samuel Body, daughter “Babygirl”, Rachel Joy Body; two sisters, Suzette (Phillip) Grissom, and Susan Joy Young, lifelong best friend, Butch “Butchie” Archer; a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 2-7 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
A family graveside service will be held at Bethany Cemetery in Reece City, Alabama at a later date.
