Patrick Wayne Carney, 79, of Red Bank, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024.

He was as born on Oct. 23, 1945, in Chattanooga, to the late Roy and Ruth Henderson Carney.

Wayne was retired from Rock Tenn Paper Mill after almost 40 years of service. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. Wayne loved to fish and spent time with his family, and was an excellent cook. He grew up in North Chattanooga and spent a lot of time in Old Washington in Rhea County, Tn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Carney, stepson, Trey Holland, and a brother, Richard Carney.

Surviving are his son, Jeff Carney, daughter, Shannon Sharp (Jerry), sisters, Joyce Huggins (Charlie), and Gail Massengale (Tom), grandson, Jacob Sharp.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Coulter Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
