Whitfield County Courthouse Renovations Underway

  • Monday, February 12, 2024

In a significant step towards ensuring additional accessibility for all residents, the Whitfield County Courthouse is undergoing renovations to the main entrance. This renovation aligns with the County’s commitment to fostering an environment where all members of the community can easily and conveniently access the services and resources provided.

A temporary ramp has been installed to compliment the elevators located at the outside entrance of the courthouse ahead of an expected increase in citizen usage of the courthouse for early voting in the coming months. Plans currently call for a permanent structure in keeping with the architectural style of the courthouse. This ramp serves as a vital accessibility feature, providing easy entry and exit for individuals with mobility challenges, parents with strollers, and visitors with heavy loads.

“This renovation was needed,” said County Administrator Bob Sivick. “Regardless of ability or circumstance, the entry needs to be readily accessible for the people visiting the courthouse.” For more information, please contact the County Administration office at 706-275-7500.
