As part of its nine-day “Tour of the South,” the Virginia Glee Club will give a free concert on Monday in McCallie's school chapel at 7 p.m.
Music by Biebl, Mozart, Vaughn Williams, folk songs and Songs of UVA will be performed by the oldest musical organization at UVA and will be conducted by Grammy Award-winning conductor Frank Albinder.
The Club was founded in 1871 and is one of the oldest collegiate tenor-bass choirs in the country. The Club attempts to take a tour each year to share the music they’ve learned during that school year.
Last year saw them take an international tour to England and Wales. This year’s “Tour of the South” will take them to Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Jackson, Johnson City and Roanoke.
