The Lee University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Régulo Stabilito, will present its spring concert on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

The concert, featuring the Concerto Competition undergraduate division winners, will include pieces such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Overture, The Magic Flute, K.620,” Jean Sibelius’ “Finlandia,” and George Frideric Handel’s “V’adoro pupille,” being performed by junior mezzo-soprano Lyly Allen.

Other featured pieces include "Dis Alyscamps, l'amo souspir" from Tableaux de Provence for saxophone and orchestra by Paule Maurice, which will be performed by sophomore soloist Blake Smith; the first movement from the “Violin Concerto No.2,” by Henryk Wieniawski, featuring sophomore soloist Daphne Jiang; and the first movement from the “Piano Concerto No.2,” by Felix Mendelssohn, featuring sophomore soloist Mansfield Yiu.

The Symphony Orchestra is an ensemble of select instrumentalists who perform operatic, choral, and other major symphonic works.

Dr. Stabilito, an artist in residence at Lee and music director and conductor of Oak Ridge Symphony in Tennessee, has accompanied renowned international soloists and made frequent appearances as a conductor for opera, orchestral, and ballet productions. He is also a permanent guest conductor in the Festival Latinoamericano de Música (Latin American Music Festival) in Caracas. He and his wife founded the Latin-American Music Initiative (LAMI), an organization that seeks to promote Latin American composers and their works.

This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Livestream viewing will also be available at leeu.live
