UTC Men Host Western Carolina On Senior Day

  • Friday, March 1, 2024

The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team will conclude regular season action with a tough matchup against Western Carolina in an important Southern Conference finale for both teams on Saturday afternoon inside McKenzie Arena. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

It'll be "Senior Day" inside the Roundhouse with pregame recognition set for the trio of Mocs seniors in Demetrius Davis, Tyler Millin and Jan Zidek. To purchase tickets, please visit the link here or call the McKenzie Arena Box Office at 423-266-6627 (MOCS) between business hours of 10 a.m.

– 5 p.m. ET, M-F. All ticket windows will open 90 minutes before tip-off on game day.

Chattanooga (20-10, 12-5 SoCon) has locked up either the No. 2 OR No. 3 seed in next weekend's SoCon Tournament in Asheville with final seeding dependent on its own result Saturday, in addition to UNCG who also sits at 12-5. With a UTC win and UNCG loss, the Mocs will claim the No. 2 seed while any other outcome will land the squad in the No. 3 spot.

Western Carolina (21-9, 10-7 SoCon) enters the weekend in a two-way tie with Furman for the No. 4 seed and can slide anywhere from No. 4 to No. 6 dependent on results from itself, Furman and Wofford, who trails by a game at 9-8 but owns the tiebreak over the Catamounts. WCU is led by Vonterius Woolbright, one of top players in mid-major basketball, who leads the SoCon in scoring (21.6 ppg), rebounding (12.0) and minutes per game (34.6).
