On March 18, 2024, Jesus gently whispered to Mrs. Eunice Jones, “Come to me—come home.” She answered his call and moved to her heavenly home to be reunited with loved ones: parents, Lee and Ruby McCullough; husband of 60 years, Willard Jones; son, Larry McCullough; infant daughter, Willie Rose Jones; grandson, James “Jay Jay” Jones, Jr.; sister, Dorothy McCullough; and dear friends, Mrs. Rosa Baker and Mrs. Rosemary Readus.

Mrs. Jones received Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was the oldest member of Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church and was faithful for over 60 years. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public School system. While she worked briefly as a cosmetologist, she ultimately chose to be a stay-at-home wife and mother to raise her children. Joyfully, she babysat her grandchildren full time until they were placed in daycare by their parents. Mrs. Jones loved to cook, and family members enjoyed all her meals. Her green beans were a favorite dish of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones is survived by four devoted sons: Willard (Linda), Ronnie (Carmen), Carl (Loretta) and James, Sr. (Maxine); stepdaughter, Mary Sparks; grandchildren: Anita Michele, Larry “Tron” (whom she raised as a son), Candy, Warren (Arielle), Britni, Brandall, Antario, Ronnie Jr., and Alex; four great grandchildren: Larry (Little Tron), Kamari, Alara, and Jace; nieces, nephews, cousins, the Germany family of Indianapolis, Indiana; other relatives and friends. Close friends: Jean Lewis, Barbara Ragland, Baker and Noble families.

Special thanks are extended to caregivers, Mrs. Janet Penny, Mrs. Estelle Waller, and Ms. Pat Baker; also, to Gentiva Hospice; Dr. Melvin and her medical staff; Orchard Knob Baptist Church Wednesday Bible Study leaders and members.

Mrs. Jones, a sweet, kind, and generous soul, will be dearly missed by those who knew her and witnessed her kindness, love, and joy. She loved her family immensely.

Public viewing will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, followed immediately by a 1 p.m. funeral service at Greater Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, 1208 Glenwood Ave., Chattanooga.

Interment will take place on Monday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, Tn., 423 622-9995.
