After falling twice on the road at Emory, the Covenant baseball team got another shot at the Eagles, this time on its home turf. It turned out to be a battle of two hot offenses, with Emory taking the upper hand.

Final: Covenant 10, Emory 16 Covenant went ahead 1-0 in the first inning after Harrison Adelgren stole home when the pitcher picked off the other runner at first base.  A pair of errors from the Scots allowed the Eagles to tie the game in the second inning. With the bases loaded in the second inning, Covenant went up 5-1 thanks to a towering grand slam to left field by Josh McCaskill.  Emory responded in the third inning with a run to make it 5-2 on a RBI single to left field.  Cody Gibson drove in Chris Savage with a RBI groundout to second base to put the Scots back up four runs in the bottom of the frame.

Three consecutive batters for Emory had a RBI in the fourth inning as it closed the gap to 6-5.
In the sixth inning it was Emory's turn to do damage with the bases loaded as Matthew Sicoli hit a 3-RBI double to right-center field.  Later in the inning, a RBI sac fly to left field put the Eagles up 9-6. Four more runs for Emory in the seventh inning, highlighted by a 3-run home run from Sicoli extended its lead to 13-6.  With a leadoff home run to left field in the seventh inning, Zeke Gilbert ended an 11-run scoring streak for Emory.

Later in the frame, Daniel Bell knocked a pinch-hit RBI single to right field that made it 13-8.
With two outs in the eighth inning, Emory poked a 2-RBI single up the middle to put the lead back to seven runs. Gilbert and Mills each picked up RBIs in the eighth as Covenant trailed 15-10 going into the final inning.  The final run of the game was scored via a RBI sac fly to center field for the Eagles.
