Dalton State Ranked No. 1 In NAIA Men's Golf Coaches Poll

  • Saturday, April 13, 2024
Dalton State (Ga.) is back on top of the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25, earning 15 of the 19 first-place votes. Keiser (Fla.) slips to second while OUAZ (Ariz.) remains third. Texas Wesleyan moves up to fourth, switching places with British Columbia. Southwestern Christian (Okla.) is back into the ranking after receiving votes last period.

This is the 67th NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll to be released since the men's golf program has been eligible for national rankings.
Of the 67, Dalton State has been ranked in the poll 66 times. They have been ranked inside the top-15 60 times, in the top-10 45 times, and in the top-5 31 times. This is the 3rd number one ranking in school history of the Roadrunners.

Ranking Methodology
• The ranking was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
• Each conference is represented by one rater.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes.
