The default of humanity has been collectivism, and straight from the Communist playbook are labor unions also an institution of collectivism. Contrary to misguided notions, collectivism or labor unions have not been the backbone of America’s enduring success, rather rugged individualism, the ability of the individual to make a choice for him or herself; additionally free-markets.
Within the Communist/labor union framework, by definition, the individual ceases to exist and is absorbed by the collective. History has shown time and again the tragedies born from collectivism, ie., poverty, unemployment, destitution, the entire domestic policy of Joseph Stalin. Just ask Detroit or the great state of Ohio to expound on the perils of labor unions; certainly not a good showing for organized labor, as participation in labor unions has declined dramatically over the past 50 years because citizens and free-markets recognize they do not work.
Votes will be cast as individuals but upon a union certification, the individual will vanish, subject to the whims of the elitists bosses running the union that care nothing for the individual, now a number, only the dues coming in.
When Volkswagen raises prices on its products to pay for non-market wages demanded from labor-union bosses from out of state, price increases of those products will be required, demand for that product will soften, then disappear; ie, layoffs, supplier disruptions that reverberate well beyond just that employee casting a vote. The bosses will not care, but rather look the next unsuspecting target to thrust promises of riches and gold.
Understand that when it comes to labor unions, ie, collectivism, the Siren song calls thee to your doom.
