Jim Greeson with his new book, "Prayer"
Chattanooga native Jim Greeson has released his most recent book titled Prayer.
The book provides carefully selected prayers from the Old Testament, New Testament and Psalms.
Mr. Greeson said, “God gave us prayer as a way to communicate with Him.” Both the Old Testament and New Testament give examples of prayers offered to God by many different people in many different circumstances.
Mr. Greeson has been an amateur photographer for more than 50 years. At the end of each prayer he has shared a photo from his personal collection. His hope is that by reading and reflecting on each prayer and connecting it with a photo, it will strengthen and inspire the reader’s prayer life.
Photos are from many parts of the United States and Canada, various locations around Tennessee, and many National Parks.
"The arrangement of each page offers an opportunity to find hope and inspiration through prayers for our daily lives and to connect with the abundant beauty all around us,” Mr. Greeson said.
Mr. Greeson was born and raised in Chattanooga. He is a 1964 graduate of Tyner High School, and holds three degrees from Tennessee Tech. He is a retired career educator as a teacher, coach, school principal, statewide education consultant, and adjunct university professor.
