Gregory Allen “Greg” Phillips
Gregory Allen “Greg” Phillips, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday morning, July 29, 2024.
A native of Soddy Daisy, he lived in the Chattanooga area all his life. He was a longtime member of Daisy United Methodist Church. Greg was a 1975 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. He was employed with EPB for 18 years as quality control manager and over the construction of the fiber system. Greg loved woodworking and was a collector of antique tools and glass insulators. He was a loyal fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Wanda Phillips, Sr. and grandparents, Harry and Isabelle Eustice and Rev. Lorenzo and Mary Phillips.
Survivors are his wife of 31 years, Jane Carmichael Phillips; children, Derek Phillips (Camellia), William Phillips, Colin Phillips and Shea Phillips; a granddaughter on the way; siblings, Bill “Roger” Phillips (Kim) and Jan Phillips and extended family.
Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 12 p.m. at Daisy United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Harwood officiating. Greg will lie in state from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church before the service. Burial will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery.
