Angela Yates, MD
Erlanger has welcomed Angela Yates, MD and Frederick Bossert, MD to the team of women’s health providers.
Angela Yates, MD received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tn. and her Doctor of Medicine degree from ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. From there, she completed her OB/GYN residency at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Dr. Yates is a board-certified and dedicated OB/GYN who said she thrives on providing exceptional care while teaching and empowering women. She believes in helping patients understand their bodies to make informed decisions about their health. Her approach to medicine combines personalized care with thorough education, ensuring each patient feels supported and confident in their choices.
Dr. Yates is a faculty member for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine – Chattanooga and serves as the program director for the OB/GYN residency program. With years of experience in women’s health, Dr. Yates is committed to delivering the highest standard of care while fostering a supportive and informative environment for her patients.
Frederick Bossert, MD attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. His Doctor of Medicine degree was obtained from ETSU Quillen College of Medicine and from there, he completed his OB/GYN residency through University of Tennessee College of Medicine – Chattanooga.
Dr. Bossert is a board-certified OB/GYN and proud US Armed Forces veteran who has been serving the community for the past 12 years. Currently, he is the director of OB/GYN Surgical Skills and Simulation for the University of Tennessee OB/GYN residency program and serves on many different hospital committees within Erlanger. He is also the co-host of the podcast for the Wilderness and Environment Medicine Journal. His passion is educating patients and resident physicians.
In addition to OB/GYN, Dr. Bossert still serves as a civilian technical advisor for the Tennessee Army National Guard and is heavily involved in wilderness and austere medicine. He believes having a fellowship education in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine provides a deeper understanding of medicine and pathology which in turn has made him a better OB/GYN and surgeon.
