CAEC National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration Lunch Is Oct. 1

In celebration of our 25th Anniversary of the Chattanooga Area Employment Consortium, the The Chattanooga Area Employment Consortium is hosting their annual National Disability Employment Awareness Month Luncheon Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center at 11:30 a.m.

"We cannot serve our mission without the assistance of individuals, companies and organizations like yours," officials said. "The Chattanooga Area Employment Consortium was organized in 1999 to improve the quality of life and general welfare for people with disabilities as it relates to employment issues.
The CAEC provides a quality network of services with a broad range of service providers. Inclusion makes it possible for people with disabilities to be an active member in their community through employment."

There will be a panel discussion on the theme, "Access to Good Jobs for All” The discussions will be led by Host and Moderator, News Channel 9 Anchor and Managing Editor Latricia Thomas.

There will also be an honoring of recipients from a list of nominees with the following awards at this celebration:
- Advocate of the Year;
- Employer of the Year;
- Employee of the Year; and
- Special Presentation.

"Proceeds from the luncheon provide seminars and other educational outreach activities to businesses and organizations in the Chattanooga area. The focus will be to encourage the hiring of individuals with disabilities and the benefits this would provide to your company and our community," officials said.
