Mrs. Brittany Nicole Sandifer, 26, of Cohutta, Georgia, passed away heroically on the morning of January 8, 2025, alongside her cherished sons, Joshua Heath Sandifer, Jacob Thomas Lee Sandifer, Jr., and Legend Zion Sandifer, as well as her beloved mother-in-law, Brenda Carol Sandifer. Brittany's final act of courage in a tragic house fire reflects the boundless love she held for her family and her unwavering spirit of protection.
Born on December 9, 1998, in Dalton, Georgia, Brittany was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Kane Sandifer, and her father, James Bray.
A 2016 graduate of Calhoun High School, Brittany brought joy and dedication to her role at IHOP on Walnut Avenue, where she was training to become a manager. Her colleagues and customers will remember her warm smile and tireless work ethic.
Above all, Brittany’s greatest joy was her family, especially her children. Her passion for life was evident in the precious time she spent riding on her father’s Harley Davidson, creating memories that exemplified her adventurous spirit.
Brittany is survived by her devoted husband, Jacob Heath Sandifer of Cohutta, GA; parents, Shannon and James Sanders of Dalton, GA, and Michael and Tracy Jones of Ellijay, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Keisha and Tony Adams of Dalton, GA, Misty Sanders of Chatsworth, GA, Toby Sandifer of Powhatan, VA; brothers, Michael Lee Jones, Jr., and Takota Brock Jones, both of Ellijay, GA, and Kendall Bray of Dalton, GA; grandparents, Vessie and Bob Siburkis of Resaca, GA, Janice Sanders of Chatsworth, GA, and Jack and Kellie Bray of Chatsworth, GA; great-grandmother, Helen Layzodgudde of Resaca, GA; aunts and uncles, Melissa Goswick, David Siburkis, Uncle Vamp, Ronald Tavares, Phillip Tavares, Crystal and Cliff Workman, Heather and Bobby Crowley, Cami Doom, Sam Bray, Kay Jones, Heather and Jason Jones; several nieces, nephews and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Services celebrating Brittany's life will be held on January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend John Ledford and Reverend Scott Byess officiating. Brittany, along with her family, will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
Brittany will take her final ride in a Harley Davidson hearse—a tribute to her love of riding. All motorcyclists are invited to join the procession as she and her loved ones are accompanied to their resting place.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday.
