WUTC-FM 88.1, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s public radio station, is set to launch a series of monthly one-on-one conversations with Interim Chancellor Robert Dooley.

Hosted by Ray Bassett, “Chatting with the Chancellor” will air on WUTC’s “Scenic Roots” at 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month beginning this coming Tuesday. Episodes will also be available on demand through the WUTC website, app and wherever podcasts are found.

The series, recorded in the podcasting space at the Gary W.
Rollins College of Business, provides a platform for Dooley to share updates on University initiatives and reflect on his experiences as interim chancellor.

He began his role as interim chancellor on Jan. 1—becoming the 18th leader in University history.

“This series is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening across our campus and to engage directly with the Chattanooga community,” Interim Chancellor Dooley said. “I’m excited to share perspectives about our students, faculty and staff—as well as how UTC continues to advance innovation and foster meaningful impact within our region.”

A two-time UTC alum and longtime campus leader, Interim Chancellor Dooley had served as dean of the Rollins College of Business since 2011.

“I’m delighted and honored for the opportunity to bring these one-on-one conversations with Dr. Dooley during this chapter at UTC to our campus and our community on WUTC,” said Mr. Bassett, host and producer of “Scenic Roots and WUTC’s editorial director.

“Sharing his perspective and his insights each month with our listeners on ‘Scenic Roots’ is public radio in practice as a public service here in Chattanooga and the Tennessee Valley. I’m grateful for his leadership and for all who made this series possible.”

WUTC serves the Tennessee Valley with NPR programming, local voices and music, striving to inform, educate and entertain listeners through its unique blend of content.
