In-Town Gallery Announces New Member, Rick Sanders

In-Town Gallery announces its new member, Rick Sanders.

Mr. Sanders is primarily an oil painter, working with a realistic technique even when a painting’s content is not about objective reality.

“My most recent artwork,” he says, “is centered on the concept of house and home. In these paintings, I explore color, space and mood, and while at times I pursue a single line of artistic inquiry, I also explore images that are not obviously visually related.”

Mr. Sanders has been creating art since childhood. He earned a master’s degree in art education from the University of South Florida, becoming proficient in various media as he taught art across the spectrum from preschool to college and adult education. While he often chooses oil painting and photography as his media, he also excels in pastels, pen and ink, and mixed media. Mr. Sanders is an award-winning artist and has shown his work in many venues across the U.S. He is a member of AVA in Chattanooga.

Showcasing the creativity of local artists for 50 years, In-Town Gallery is located ‘Between the Bridges’ on Chattanooga’s North Shore at 26A Frazier Ave.
