EPB Announces Scam Alert

  • Monday, January 6, 2025
EPB has received alerts of scam calls, some of which may appear to come from an EPB phone number beginning with “423-648.” Scammers then direct people to a malicious website to “update their software” or ask for other information.

Officials said, "EPB will never cold call a customer or employee and ask them to type in a web address.

"If customers receive suspicious calls or emails, we encourage them to hang up and dial EPB directly at 423-648-1372. Real EPB employees are always glad for you to verify their identity, so please don’t hesitate to follow this procedure."
