Bradley Central Hoops Teams Cruise Past Howard

 The Bradley central basketball teams put 173 points on the scoreboard Tuesday evening, while allow a pair of winless Howard squads just 42 for a District 6-4A sweep, at Jim Smiddy Arena.

Ranked fifth nationally, the back-to-back TSSAA State Champion Bearettes cruised to a 104-11 victory in the varsity opener, while the Bears had no trouble in the nightcap with a 69-31 outcome.

Bradley will take the rest of the week off before returning to action before head across the county to take on Walker Valley on Tuesday.

BRADLEY CENTRAL GIRLS 104, HOWARD 11
: Without any Bearette starters playing more than jsut over 14 minutes, the hosts allowed the visitors just one made field goal in each period, while limiting them to just 17 attempts on the evening.

Meanwhile, unbeaten Bradley (17-0) got off 73 shots, while copping 35 steals in 44 Lady Tiger turnovers, which led to 87 of the Bearette points.

After a 48-3 opening period, the hosts took a 69-5 edge into the intermission before capping the evening with a 35-6 edge in the "running clock" second half.

Playing just under 13 minutes, 2024 Miss Tennessee Basketball finalist Kimora Fields paced the victors with 20 points, hitting all 10 of her shots from the field, while copping five thefts, grabbing just three rebounds and handed off a pair of helps.

Kennesaw State signee Tatianna Stovall helped out with 18 markers, making 9-of-10 attempts, while swiping seven steals, grabbing four caroms and dishing a trio of assists.  

Arkansas Signee Harmonie Ware posted 15 points, on 7-of-9 shooting with a 3-pointer, plus had four thefts and three "dimes."

Samford signee Avary Brewer collected 13 points, with a pair from distance, a half dozen steals and four assists.

Bradley shot 74.6% (34-of-45) from inside the arc, plus 39.3% (11-for-28) beyond it.

Howard was 3-for-5 from long distance with Madison Gaines, Tionna Robinson and Kennedy Holloway connecting on 3-pointers.

BRADLEY BOYS 69, HOWARD 31: The Best of Preps champion Bears put the game away early with a 22-9 edge at the first horn and a 54-16 halftime advantage.
Both teams netted 15 points in the final 16 minutes.

Senior Caiden Bauldwin topped the victors with double-double of 17 points, including 8-for-8 at the charity stripe, and 11 rebounds.

Classmate Tyrese Stovall helped out with 14 points, five caroms and three steals in just under 11 minutes on the court.

Howard's Ant Fullilove led all scorers with 18 points, plus had had a trio of thefts. Jesse Golden added eight points an five caroms to the Tiger cause.
