Richard Paul White
Richard Paul White, 86, of the New Salem community, gained his heavenly wings on February 26, 2025.
A graveside service to honor Paul's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Hawkins Cemetery, with Brother Billy Wallace officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the New Salem Community Center from 12-2 p.m.
Paul enjoyed over 60 years in the radio industry with the last 25 years at WFLI Radio AM 1070. His career took him and his family all over the United States from his hometown to Michigan, Florida, and Wyoming. Paul deeply loved his family more than anything. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren truly lit up his life.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Rob and Jewell White; son-in-law, Rodney Middleton; brothers-in-law, Sonny Harris, Tice Harris and Billy Gray.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Wanda White; children, Gloria Middleton, Jim (Lisa) White, Penny Keeton, Jeff (Mary Ann) White, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Sue Gray; brother-in-law, Kookie (Linda) Harris; sisters-in-law, Shirley Harris, Carolyn Harris as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tapestry Hospice, Dr. Siobhan Duff, the Honor Guard of American Legion Post 106, family and friends for their support during this difficult time.
