Lee University officials inked an agreement with Lincoln Memorial University for the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine for the purpose of creating a guaranteed interview program for qualified premed majors.

“The philosophy embodied by the osteopathic wellness approach of the whole person aligns very closely with the desires of many of Lee’s students,” said Dr. Paul DeLaLuz, chair of the Department of Natural Sciences. “LMU’s medical program offers a vision of care that recognizes a person as a body, mind, and spirit, and that treatment should embrace compassionate, patient-centered care, which is highly valued by Lee’s student body. I am excited that Lee and LMU’s shared values have allowed us to partner more closely with this agreement.”

This agreement establishes a guaranteed interview program for all qualified premed students from Lee, with the possibility of admission to LMU-DCOM. This program will be made available to an unlimited number of Lee students each year who meet the specific qualifications.

"We are thrilled to establish this partnership with Lee University, providing a seamless pathway for their students to pursue medical education at LMU-DCOM,” said Dr. Christopher Loyke, dean and chief academic officer of LMU-DCOM. “These articulation agreements not only expand our applicant pool but also help us attract dedicated and talented future physicians. We are excited to see Lee University students take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to seeing them excel in their medical careers."

Lee’s premed program prepares students for the successful completion of entrance examinations and for medical school admissions, including Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine programs. Lee’s premed graduates have been accepted to a variety of medical schools, including LMU, as well as others like East Tennessee State University, Georgetown University, Medical College of Georgia, New York Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University and Vanderbilt University.

“We have sent several very successful Lee graduates to LMU’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program in the past,” said Dr. DeLaLuz. “I believe the historical success of our graduates in LMU’S program afforded this new opportunity of guaranteed interviews to future generations of Lee students.”
