Betty Lou Burrage Wilson
Betty Lou Burrage Wilson of Red Bank, Tennessee, passed away on February 8, 2025. She was 95 years old. She was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Brentwood, Al.
Betty was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Bertha (Ledford) Burrage; brothers, William (Billy) Burrage, Royce Burrage; sister, Francis (Burrage) Reed; son, Larry Wayne Wilson; and grandson, Anthony (Tony) Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, James Larry Wilson of 75 years; daughters, Violet Kilgore, Linda (Jerry) Gann, Wanda (Jesse) Bledsoe; brother Robert (Bob) Burrage; and sister Shirley (Ronald) Yarbrough. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Betty was an Air Force wife for 20 years while James served. After that, she worked at K-Mart on Hixson Pike, retiring after a 20-year career. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching ceramics in her home for many years, and in her 80s she took up painting beautiful artwork.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga, who provided exemplary care for Betty in her time of need.
The visitation will be held at Lane Funeral Home-Coulter Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 4-6 p.m.
The funeral service for Betty will be the following day, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends starting at 10 a.m. The burial will then follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
