Morning Pointe of Athens Assisted Living will present its seventh annual Mastering Memory Care Golf  Tournament on June 25 at the Springbrook Golf & Country Club in Niota.

The tournament will benefit the Morning Pointe Foundation. The 501(c)3 nonprofit provides caregiver support programs, sponsors educational awareness events and funds clinical scholarships to advance the care of seniors.

Registration and breakfast begins at 8 a.m., followed by 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The tournament will conclude with a 1 p.m. luncheon and awards banquet.

Since its founding in 2014, the Morning Pointe Foundation has funded more than 146 nursing and clinical scholarships at 22 partnering community colleges and universities. Locally, these include Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) in Athens and Jacksboro, Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens and Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland.

“This tournament is more than just a day of golf—it’s a way for our community to come together in support of students pursuing careers in senior care,” said Greg A. Vital, president and co-founder of Morning Pointe Senior Living, who also helped start the Foundation. “Every sponsor and participant plays a role in strengthening the future of healthcare.”

The Foundation continues to accept donations and welcomes sponsorships for this event. For more information about sponsoring the tournament or to register as a golfer, call Crystal Sutton, executive director at Morning Pointe of Athens, at 423-836-3317, or email Athensed@morningpointe.com.

“This tournament is always a highlight of the year, bringing together businesses, healthcare professionals and friends to make a real impact,” said Ms. Sutton. “The Foundation’s mission to support clinical education is something we are incredibly proud of, and seeing it grow to include more schools and students in our area is truly rewarding.”

With the worldwide nursing shortage and increased cost of education, the work of the Morning Pointe Foundation is increasingly important. Fundraisers such as the golf tournament help make the scholarships possible.

“Year after year, we see firsthand how this tournament transforms lives by funding scholarships for future caregivers,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “It’s inspiring to witness the generosity of our community come to life in such a meaningful way.”

Last year’s tournament raised a record $18,800 for the Morning Pointe Foundation.
