Charlene Phillips Beard went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 10, 2025.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Edward and Rosa Nell Phillips.

Charlene graduated from Chattanooga High School, went on to work for the federal government for 30 years and retired from the Social Security Administration in 2003.

She was a member of Wesley Memorial Church where she loved to volunteer. She was extremely clever, witty, and an avid reader. She will always be remembered as a sweet and caring friend to all who knew her.

Charlene is survived by her loving sisters, Wanda P. Booth and Terri A. Phillips. We sisters cannot begin to convey what she meant to us and what her loss will mean in our lives. She is also survived by double-first cousin, W. Gary Phillips, cousins, Linda Cobb and Rickie Pierce and many more loving relatives.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at Heritage Funeral Home - East Brainerd Road Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to her beloved Wesley Memorial Church at 3405 Peerless Road, NW, Cleveland, Tm. 37312.
