The Whitfield County Republican Party announces its Convention will be held on Saturday, March 22, at City of Refuge, 416 S. Glenwood Avenue in Dalton. Doors open at 9 a.m. with the program commencing at 10 a.m.
After the conducting of party business including election of executive board officers, consideration of resolutions, and election of delegates to the 14th District and State Party Conventions, the gathering will be addressed by featured speaker Josh Pruitt.
Mr. Pruitt is a 43-year-old father of two young children from Washington who was prosecuted by the Biden DOJ for non-violent participation in the protest at the U.S. capital on Jan. 6, 2021. Labeled an “insurrectionist” he was sentenced by a judge to 55 months in federal prison. After three years as a political prisoner, Mr. Pruitt was pardoned by President Trump earlier this year.
Mr. Pruitt’s speech will address all his experiences and his story is a "compelling story of resilience, loyalty and redemption." Mr. Pruitt is also the co-author of the book “Trumped Up” based on the same events.
There is no fee for delegates but guests will be charged $10 at the door to help cover the expenses of the event.
