Stop Another Waste Of Money - And Response (2)

  • Tuesday, March 25, 2025

In the midst of the alleged money-saving efforts by the Musk-Trump "administration" there is another one that they should consider: the unnecessary, ulteriorly-motivated trip by Usha Vance to Greenland. How many taxpayer dollars could be saved by cancelling this useless trip that appears to me to be a vacation for Vance's wife and son? What governmental function does the Vance kid serve?

This boondoggle only serves to prove that Musk-Trump-Vance have little interest in saving any money for the American taxpayer. However, they have plenty of interest in spending plenty of our money for themselves.

Tim McDonald’s comments on Vice President Vance’s wife and son going to Greenland seems to have two purposes: mocking Trump’s efforts to reduce waste and fraud in government as “alleged” money-saving and to ridicule it as a useless trip appearing to be a vacation for Vance’s wife and son. McDonald asks, “what governmental function does the Vance kid serve?”

I don’t recall Mr. McDonald commenting on Vice President Kamala Harris highly criticized “shopping trip to a high-end store” where she purchased an expensive cooking pot at a time average Americans dealt with high inflation and grocery prices (CNN 12/12/21). In Paris for a climate-change conference Harris also used the time for personal shopping. Where was McDonald’s concern then?

Joe Biden as Vice President took son Hunter with him on foreign excursions at taxpayer expense (NBC 10/2/19; CNN 12/28/24). Did Mr. McDonald question what governmental function the Biden kid (age: 40s) served on these trips? We now know what purpose Hunter served and it wasn’t governmental.

ABC reported “taxpayers to foot bill for majority of Jill Biden’s Paris-Delaware trips for Hunter’s trials.” A round trip from Willmington to Paris was $223,000. The DNC indicated they would reimburse but no details on how much (ABC News 6/11/24) or if they ever did. Thank you, Mr. McDonald, for helping us to recall such waste of our tax money by the Biden/Harris team.

Indeed, you are correct Mr. Miller, certainly no response from Mr. McDonald regarding Biden's spending initiatives. The most concerning part with the left, as so brilliantly illustrated by Mr. McDonald himself, is the blind-hysteria/hypocrisy they find themselves in due to hatred for President Trump.

Even more troubling is the inability to recognize the strategic value of Greenland for the United States in terms of national security. A quick glance at the northern polar regions of the globe will show the prominence of Russia and China. This region is not just a frozen wasteland, it is an area with strategic implications, vital shipping lanes, mineral exploration and proximity to defending our U.S. borders. President Trump is adamant about American national security. American voters agreed, it should necessarily include Greenland.

DOGE is in the process of discovering waste and tons of it, which I am sure Mr. McDonald supports, and would agree that accountability is not illegal. However, America's national security and efforts to maintain it are not a waste of money, but necessary in today's world.
