The Covenant tennis team and Brevard went head-to-head on Tuesday afternoon on a windy day on campus. The Scots delivered a strong performance to get the win despite several players playing in new singles and doubles positions.
Final: Covenant 7, Brevard 0 In doubles, Brock Boehling and Graham Hayes played in the No. 1 position for the first time this year and picked up a tiebreak win 7-6 (7-5) against Hayden LeBlanc and Bryce Bernitt. In the No. 2 slot, Gill Dunn and Jackson Orsega picked up a 6-4 win over Noah Lewis and Ethan McGee. Covenant's lone loss of the day came in the No. 3 ranked match as Caleb Domkowski and Jackson Nance fell 4-6 to Noah Boyles and Ayden Montero.
Domkowski manned the No. 1 slot in singles and bounced back from his doubles loss with a 6-0, 6-3 win over LeBlanc. In the No. 2 position, Boehling took care of business with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Bernitt. Orsega got the job done in a tiebreak in the No. 3 ranked match, securing a 6-4, 2-6 (10-6) win over Montero.
In the No. 4 slot, Hayes came through with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Boyles. Dunn tallied another singles win to his total, defeating Nate Bookout 6-4, 6-0. Gavin Patton played in the No. 6 position and took home a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Caelan Byrd.
Covenant welcomes Piedmont to campus for a key conference match on Friday.
