Larry Wayne Cooper
Larry Wayne Cooper, 77, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, April 6, 2025.
Larry was the father of three sons and the "PappaDaddy" to 10 grandchildren.
Born in New Castle, In., on March 4, 1948, to Claude Madison Cooper and Edna King Cooper, Larry was the youngest of five children. He graduated high school from Blue River Valley in 1966 where he was senior class president and prom king. He was a star basketball player and went on to play college basketball in Indiana. He graduated from The University of Tennessee and was the first in his family to earn a college degree.
Larry was a multiple business owner: Dixie Auto Exchange, Scenic City Mazda (under the big umbrella) and Cooper Staffing and Consulting.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Alice Clevenger Cooper, sister-n-law Carolyn Cooper, brother-in-law Sonny Westfelt, and nephews Jared Dick, Tony Westfelt and Kenny Cooper.
Larry is survived by his three sons, Tyson (Niki) Cooper, Craig (Laura) Cooper, Stuart (Jenny) Cooper, ten grandchildren (Jordan, Karis, McCade, Madison, Joshua, Philip, Charlotte, Chase, Knox, Penelope), brothers Lyle (Carol) Cooper, Cecil Cooper and sisters Darlene Westfelt and Joyce (Bobby) Dick.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Sue McDunough for her support, love, and friendship to our father in the last year of his life. We would also like to thank the Clevenger family and all of Larry’s friends, coworkers, employees, and church members over the years.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, with a celebration of life following at 2 p.m.
