Patricia Ann Mayfield
Patricia Ann Mayfield, 78, passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2025.
Pat was born on August 7, 1947, to David Smith and Katherine Murray Case. She married her loving husband, Jerry Bruce Mayfield, on July 3, 1965, in Chattanooga, Tn. Two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Cindy, completing their family. Pat and Jerry enjoyed many camping trips over the years with their dear friends, Rex and Peggy Lewis. Traveling to Fall Creek Falls and Gatlinburg annually, the couple made precious memories to last a lifetime. Pat was a devoted wife and mother. She often enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. She was a long-time member of Mountain Creek Church of Christ, sharing her gift of cooking through countless potluck gatherings. Pat was a devoted Christian and rarely missed a Sunday morning or a chance to greet everyone at the door.
Pat is preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Jerry Bruce Mayfield, and two brothers, Kenneth and David Irvin Smith.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cindy Mayfield Reynolds (Grant) and her two grandchildren Libby Kelly (John) and John David Reynolds. She also leaves two sisters, Shirley Bryant (Cecil) and Linda White (Cliff), and a brother, Terry Smith as well as many nieces and nephews. Each of her family members will cherish Pat’s memory and their time spent with her.
Pat will always be remembered as a smiling face, welcoming to all. She took great joy in spending time with her friends from Mountain Creek. She met weekly for dinner with close friends, Judy Reachard and Debbie Whitehead and cherished every moment. She had the heart of a servant, always being the first to volunteer for church events such as teaching class, serving the deaf members of the congregation, and entertaining everyone on game nights. She will leave a lasting impression on all who knew her and had the pleasure of calling her friend, Mom, sister, Nana and Aunt Pat.
The family will have a visitation at Mountain Creek Church of Christ on Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 5-7 p.m. Additionally, Mountain Creek Church of Christ will host a celebration of life service on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The gift of flowers are welcome, as well as donations to Mountain Creek Church of Christ directed to the Backpack Program, which provides necessities to local school children.
