Connell Moreland was born on July 22, 1962, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. On Thursday, July 31, 2025, after a lengthy illness, God called him home to dwell with him in Paradise.

Connell is survived by his loving parents, James and Mildred Moreland of Chattanooga.

Connell was a graduate of Kirkman Technical High School in Chattanooga. Following graduation, he worked several jobs as an industrial worker in the Chattanooga area, and he loved to work on cars. Connell was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.

Connell was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Smith, his grandmother, Bessie Lee Hood Smith, and his aunt, Pearly Harkness.

Connell leaves behind a loving family who will forever love his memories; his daughters, Precious Lewis of Chattanooga, Simone (Justin) White of Woodstock, GA; his twin brother, Donnell Moreland of Chattanooga, his sisters, Monica (Melvin) Flowers, Sabrina (Christopher) Clay, both of Chattanooga, his grandchildren, Faith Rawls, Emory White, and a host of nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

There will not be a public viewing. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga.
