Signal Mountain Facing Decisions On Future Of MAAC

Signal Mountain officials will need to make some decisions about the Mountain Arts Community Center with the current leaders retiring and the issue of continued funding. An old elementary school on Signal Mountain became a fine arts center when the building was given to the town. It had fallen into disrepair and in around 2017, a decision needed to be made whether to renovate the building, tear it down or sell it. Soddy Daisy’s Lady Trojans picked a bad day to play one of their worst softball games of the season. Don’t misunderstand. These girls had an amazing season with first-year coach Chris Day and they created a lot of excitement for the home folks, but that all came to a screeching halt at Warner Park’s Field No. One Tuesday afternoon when the Lenoir City Lady Panthers advanced in Region 3-AAA with a solid 6-3 win. The Birmingham Barons used timely hitting and solid pitching to get the 4-1 win before 2,991 at Regions Field on Tuesday night. Starting pitcher Noah Schult (2-1, 3.58) gets the win, going 5.0 innings, giving up five hits, one earned run, one walk, and seven strikeouts.
