  • Friday, July 21, 2000

Two men charged with starting a fire that caused $5.5 million in damages at Island Cove Marina have entered guilty pleas in Federal Court.

Stanley Dennison and Tommy Muse acknowledged setting fire to Jerry White Sr.'s houseboat, so Dennison could collect insurance money for a debt he owed White.

Some 25 boats were destroyed in the blaze.

The pair face 7-40 years in prison and fines up to $25,000.

Sentencing is Oct. 16.
