Meth labs are sprouting up all over - including in a back room of the judge's chambers at the Dade County Detention Center at Trenton.
Dade County Sheriff Phillip Street said a jail trusty was found cooking a batch of meth in the unlikely locale.
Richard Andrew Logan was arrested Wednesday morning after the sheriff said he admitted he was cooking meth to feed a drug problem.
He said his officers are seeking persons they believe dropped off the meth ingredients to Logan at the jail. It is believed the dropoff was made into a trash bin, and Logan picked the items up as he went out to take a load of trash.
Logan, who had fixed up his bed so it would look like it was occupied, was using an electric skillet.
Logan was serving time on several traffic violations.
His trusty privileges have been revoked.
