Greenwood, Leah Eugenia, 98, of Ft. Oglethorpe, died on Friday, March 7, 2003 at home.
She was born in Momence, Ill. on Oct. 7, 1904 and had been a resident of North Georgia for the last 30 years. A beloved mother, grandmother and a talented seamstress, she was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ernest George Greenwood, and daughter, Diane Blanchette of Bourbonnais, Ill.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Greenwood (Linda) of Hixson; daughter, Linda Landgraf (Jerry) of Albuquerque, N.M.; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive. Special thanks to Rose Hixson and Florence Bankston for their loving care and kindness over the last few years.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Mike Nolan officiating.
Graveside services will be held in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church, 3049 LaFayette Rd., Ft. Oglethorpe, GA 30742 or O.L.P.H. Catholic Church, 501 S. Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412.
