Walter Vaughn, 90, Ringgold, died Monday, November 27, 2006, in a local hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church. Mr. Vaughn was retired with TVA and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Allene Vaughn, granddaughters, Pamela Marie Vaughn and Sheri Michelle Smith; sisters, Elsie Williams and Meda Davenport; brothers, Russell Vaughn and Arnold Vaughn.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Vaughn; children, Wanda (Jimmy) Smith, Glenn (Kaye) Vaughn, both of Ringgold, and Dean (Sue) Vaughn, Port Charlotte, Fl.; brothers, Lester Vaughn, Ooltewah; sisters, Virginia Jo Haddock, Ringgold, and Benola Ramey, Ft. Oglethorpe; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ralph Long and Rev. Bill Proctor officiating. Interment will follow in Daily Hills Cemetery.
