Barbara Sue Burns Sims, 73, of Hixson, died on Monday, May 1, 2006.

Barbara was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. She was a former employee with Lake Winnepesaukah. Barbara was a member of Lakeview First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sims; parents, T. J. and Hazel Burns; and a sister, Clara Lee Burns.

Barbara is survived by her five children, Deanie Prieto, Sherrie McDaniel, Darlene Sims, Ben Sims, and James Sims; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; six sisters, Billie Vickers, Betty Gayton, Vivian Bray, Patricia Ann Chauncey, Frances Bowman and Gail Wagner; four brothers, Eddie, Tommy, Kenny and Dennis Burns; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 6–9 p.m. on Wednesday and from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
