New Name Coming For Lookouts' BellSouth Park

Since BellSouth Merger With AT&T

  • Wednesday, January 3, 2007

The merger of BellSouth with AT&T means a new name for BellSouth Park - home of the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Patsy Hazlewood, who served as vice president for East Tennessee for BellSouth and is continuing in that role, said the new name will be up by opening day next spring.

She said the name may be AT&T Park.

But she noted that there is already an AT&T Park - home of the San Francisco Giants.

Ms. Hazlewood said she has already been in discussions with Lookouts owner Frank Burke about the change.

She said, under the contract, costs of the change will be assessed to the phone company.

Ms. Hazlewood said the new name must get the approval of AT&T corporate headquarters.
