Robert Benjamin Dalton, 76, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at a local hospital.
Mr. Dalton was born in Swedens Cove, Tn., to Lee Roy and Mary Jane Dalton. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a member of the Lookout Valley Lodge # 673 F & AM.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Janet Avans Dalton; children, Deborah (Charles) Knight, Robert Burnen (Audrey) Dalton, Tracie (David) Cunningham, Gary J. Bowen, Lincoln T. Bowen, and Robert Benjamin Dalton, Jr.; grandchildren, Cathy Dixon, Christy Alloway, Michele Herndon, Ashley Dalton, Robert William Dalton, Tyler Cunningham, Eric Cunningham, Schylar Bowen, Robert Benjamin Dalton, III, and Samuel Gauge Dalton; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, and Alton; sisters, Ruth Reynolds, Ruby Holder, Louise DeGast, Tula Rector, Vannie McCloud, and Mary Ann Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Tom, Lee Roy, and J. L. Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Gary Flynn officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood West Cemetery
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road.
