Eston Cordell Blaylock, 80, a resident of Ooltewah, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a self-employed mechanic. He owned and operated Highway 58 Exxon Station for several years. He worked for Hamilton County Board of Education.
Mr. Blaylock was the son of the late Frank Blaylock and Laurie Blaylock and was also preceded in death by his son, Eston Ronnie Blaylock; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosie Blaylock, of Ooltewah; four children and spouses, Nellie Blaylock, of Georgetown, Regina Guier, of Ooltewah, Donnie and Beverly Blaylock, of Decatur and Jerry and Libby Blaylock, of Oolltewah; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Estell and Gertrude, of Sparta, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, Cleveland, Tn., with the Rev. Ernest Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in New McDonald Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
