R.L. Stowe Mills Closing With Loss Of 350 Local Jobs

Officials of R.L. Stowe Mills Inc. announced Monday that it will be closing after almost 108 years in business.

The company has 550 employees in Tennessee and North Carolina.

About 350 of the jobs are in Chattanooga.

Stowe is headquarterd in Belmont, N.C.

Under federal law, the firm had to give employees at least a 60-day notice.
