Walter Harrison Denton, 61, of Old Fort, Tn., died on February 6, 2009, in a local hospital.
He was a truck driver and had last worked for Flowers Bakery. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and after his service in the Navy, he served in the Army National Guard. He liked horses and horseback riding and he loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Annie Hazel Elliott Denton; and his wife, Sandray Denton.
He is survived by two daughters, Laura Creasman and Lynette Nealy both of Dayton, Tn.; three sisters, Faye Varner, Old Fort, Tn., Beth Denton, Cleveland, Tn., and Janet and husband, C. J. McKnight, Cleveland, Tn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, at 3 p.m. at Price Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Gary Higgins officiating. Services will conclude with Military Honors at the cemetery.
