Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Group, operator of 37 restaurants in 18 states, including Rock Bottom Buckhead, will open its 28th flagship-branded Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant in Atlanta on July 13.
The Chattanooga-based company will be re-branding the Buckhead Rock Bottom location to its more upscale Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant concept.
“We’re delighted to bring Gordon Biersch to Buckhead,” stated Allen Corey, president and CEO of Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Group. “Adding to our existing Midtown location, we see this opening as our opportunity to further demonstrate the unique approach we take to fresh brewed beer and boldly flavored, creative cuisine. With the addition of new high end hotels, apartments and business offices in the surrounding development and area, this was the perfect time to introduce our upscale casual Gordon Biersch concept. Our current guests will still be able to enjoy fresh beer, pool tables and great food, but will see noticeable upgrades in our menu, beer offerings and décor package.”
Additionally, a second Taiwan Gordon Biersch licensed unit will open in the city of Taichung in late June. Jeff Lee, president of G & B Brewery Development (Asia), will lead the opening of the second Taiwan location as well as further Asian expansion.
Mr. Lee commented, “We are excited by the opportunity to bring another Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant to the Asian market. Our Taipei unit, which opened in Spring of 2008 has met or exceeded every expectation for success. We look at Taichung as a fantastic opportunity to further build the Gordon Biersch brand in Asia.”
Along with its expansion in the Southeast and the South Pacific, Gordon Biersch is growing domestically with a new unit in Dallas which is on track to open later this year. Located at the Park Lane development, Gordon Biersch Dallas will add its unique dining experience to the property, which features a variety of retail, hotel and entertainment venues.
The Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Group currently operates 37 restaurants. The Big River Grille & Brewing Works brand includes four locations. Other branded concepts operated by Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Group include Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants, Bluewater Grille, A1A Ale Works, Seven Bridges Grille, and Ragtime Tavern.
