Pauline Cordes
Pauline Cordes, 94, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31st.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William and their daughters, Rebekah Vasterling and Winifred Ward.
She will be dearly missed by her children (and spouses) Lois and (Ken) Wolf and Jonathan and (Mary) Cordes; her grandchildren (and their spouses): Jamie (and Mandy) Weaver, Danny (and Chin) Weaver, David Weaver, Rachel and(Bryan) Whipple, Aaron and ( Havala) Wolf, Caleb and (Erica) Wolf, Josiah and (Sara) Wolf, Lydia and (Chris) Thornton, Elizabeth and (Emanuel) Jinks, Rebekah and (Anthony) Griggs, Julia and (Jeremy) Rardin, Heidi Vasterling, Jeremy Vasterling, Ahni Vasterling: and great grandchildren Maryn, Merida, Emilia, Cotie, Elijah, Nadia, Lizzie, Danielle, Leilani, Cameron, Keahi, Malia, Anela, Caleb, Kailani, Wyatt, St. John, Delphia, Zipporah, Gottlieb, Zoë, Eli, Isaac, Titus, Owen, Silas, Jude, Haziel, Juan, Holly, Henry, Allen, Jamie, Elias.
She attended Berean Bible College to prepare to teach elementary children which she taught for many years in Pennsylvania before accepting the principalship at The Christian Academy in suburban Philadelphia. Upon moving with her husband to Maryland in 1984, she became principal at one of Annapolis Area Christian School’s Lower School campuses. She was a master at what she did, serving God with all her heart and expertise.
A Celebration of Pauline’s life will be held at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, Lookout Mountain, at 11 a.m. on Aug. 8. The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 5-7 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park with her husband, William.
