George Maynard Delk, 77, of Georgetown, Tn., died Friday, July 22, 2011, at the family residence.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his family and was loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ancil and Della Delk; brothers, Howard Delk, Ancil Delk Jr. and C. W. Delk; and twin sister, Georgia Mae Sitton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Croley Delk of Georgetown; sons, Gene Delk and wife Cheryl of Georgetown, Tim Delk and wife Lori and John Delk and wife Jodie, all of Cleveland; daughters, Teresa Allen and husband Marvin of Chatsworth and Iramae Varner and husband Jack of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Holbert Delk and wife Doris of Crossville; grandchildren and their spouses, Gene Delk III and Amanda, George Brandon Delk, James Ramsey and Amber, Natasha Holmes and Whitney, Erika Johnson and Curtis, Justin Mason and Ashley, Logan Delk, Morgan Delk, Austin Delk and Peyton Delk; great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Holly, Malia, Kevin, Ashley, Makayla, Kalista, Macie, Issac, Madison, Matt, Ashley, Chandler, Charles and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 25, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Cooper officiating. A white dove release will follow the service on the front lawn of the funeral home.
