Dr. Hemphill Joins UT Erlanger's Cardiology Unit

Erlanger Health System and UT Erlanger Cardiology announced the addition of Dr. John Carter Hemphill. Dr. Hemphill is joining Erlanger’s team of 11 board-certified cardiologists which includes specialists in interventional procedures, electrophysiology, and nuclear cardiology.

Double board-certified in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease, Dr. Hemphill earned his Medical Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina, and his residency at both Brockton Hospital, part of Boston University Medical Center, and the University of Texas Health Science Center.

He continued his training, completing his fellowship in cardiovascular disease from the University of Texas at San Antonio and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at Scott & White, part of the University of Texas and Texas A&M College of Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Hemphill has been awarded Diplomat status from both the American Board of Vascular Medicine and the Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Prior to joining UT Erlanger Cardiology, Dr. Hemphill practiced with Augusta Cardiology Clinic in Augusta, Georgia.

UT Erlanger Cardiology, one of the fastest growing academic cardiology practices in the region, consists of 11 cardiologists with offices in the Erlanger Baroness Campus Medical Mall and in the Corporate Image East location off of Gunbarrel Road.
