NAI Charter Has $47 Million In Transactions For 2011

NAI Charter completed commercial and industrial real estate transactions for 2011 in excess of $47 million, David F. DeVaney, SIOR, CCIM and president, said.

He said NAI Charter closed over 100 commercial transactions involving 1,561,547 square feet of space for a value of $47,704,658.

This represents a 35 percent increase in the dollar volume and a 10 percent increase in the square footage from 2010.

NAI Charter sold or leased 35 warehouses and industrial properties totaling 824,317 square feet for a value of $15,146,000. Notable transactions in this sector included Simplex Grinnell, McKee Baking Company and Arcade Printing (Visant).

NAI Charter also closed 43 office transactions totaling 266,000 square feet for a value of $14,068,000. Notable transactions included the sale of the 136,000-square-foot Miller Building by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and leases with Merastar, Volkert Engineering and TVA.

NAI Charter completed 13 retail transactions totaling 463,437 square feet for a value of $17,639,300. Notable transactions included the sale of Belle Island in Pigeon Forge, Infiniti/Volvo, Kia/Mazda and Cadillac dealerships, and the Ethan Allen Furniture Store.

NAI Charter’s current property inventory is in excess of $100 million.

The 40-year old company has a staff of seven full time brokers, four holding the SIOR designation, four holding the CCIM designation and one holding the MAI designation.
