Lee Signs 6'9" Post From Livingston Academy

Coach Tommy Brown traveled into the midstate area to land a 6-foot-9, 225 post player prospect from a high school rich in basketball tradition, Livingston Academy.

Logan Ramsey comes from a family that loves the game of basketball. In fact his father, John graduated from Livingston Academy in 1979 and scored 1,200 points. His younger brother, Mason, has already tallied over 1,300 points and Logan reached the magic 1,000-point mark on Feb. 7. But the story doesn't end there.

His mother, Lisa, graduated in 1993 with 933 marker and older brother Deven finished in 2009 with 968.There is even more to the story. The Ramsey family runs a dairy farm and they are up at 3:30 each morning to milk the cows, and then they can think about school work and shooting hoops.

Logan averaged 15 points, two blocked shots and 12 rebounds for his high school club. He was named the MVP of District 8-AA; was All-Upper Cumberland first team and all-tournament in the 8-AA District and Region 4-AA.

"He's big, strong and has good hands," said coach Tommy Brown, who is extremely pleased with the rising freshman recruit. "He's a farm boy who is not afraid of work and he has a certain toughness that I really like. He came in and worked out against some of big guys and never backed off, but at the same time, Logan can step out and shoot the 3 ball."

Brown says he expected Ramsey to come in next season and give the Flames some good minutes.

"He's from a basketball-playing family and knows how to play the game. In that area, he has the edge against some of our other young recruits. He's also a good student and we are excited he decided to come to Lee. He'll fit right in immediately with not only the team, but the entire student body."
