Edna Louise Evans Milling, 93, of Red Bank, peacefully died at home on June 22, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Robert Milling, parents, Hoyt and Elva Evans, brothers, Ozell, Kenneth, Herbert and Roland Evans.

A member of Central Baptist Church of Hixson for almost 45 years, she attended faithfully until just before her death.  She was a member of the Esther Class, and had been an active and enthusiastic participant in senior adult activities.  She was a faithful member of her previous churches Woodland Heights Baptist Church and Ruhama Baptist Church, where she was saved at the age of 11.

She retired from 3M in 1981, where she had been employed for 30 years. She enjoyed the next 25 years of retirement,  travelling, spending time with family, and growing beautiful flowers with both of her green thumbs.

The legacy she leaves her family is one of love, joy, faithfulness, and generosity.  Her love for each member of her family caused her to see only the best in each of them.  She loved nothing more than to have her family around her and strove to make each occasion they were together - a workday, weekend or special event - memorable.  No birthday or anniversary of any family member or friend was ever forgotten.  She shared everything – flowers, seeds for tomatoes she had been growing for years, the wealth from her garden, pictures (of those you knew and those she wanted you to know),  stories of her childhood and her special travels, and her love.

She is survived by her son, Bob Milling, daughter-in-law, Linda Milling, granddaughter, Pam Milling, grandson and wife, Steve and Sharon Milling, great-granddaughter and husband, Ashton and Darren Camp, great-granddaughter, Amelia Milling, sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Buford Brown, and many nieces and nephews.

Her life will be celebrated on Monday, June 25, at 2 p.m. in the Hope Building Sanctuary at Central Baptist Church, with Dr. Ron Phillips and Dr. Reggie Rempel of Harvest Baptist Church of the Deaf officiating. Kim Rempel and Claris Industrious will be interpreting the service for the deaf. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel on Sunday, June 24, from 4-8 p.m., and Monday, June 25, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m at the funeral home.

A special thank you is given to all those from Hospice of Chattanooga for the gentle care which helped make her final days more comfortable.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church of Hixson or Harvest Christian Academy for the Deaf, 1314 Old Three Notch Road, Ringgold, Ga. 30736.

Condolences may be sent to www.lanefh.com

Arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.
