Sarah Marie Aslinger, 57, of East Ridge, died on December 18, 2013 at her home.  

She lived all of her life in the Chattanooga area where she graduated from Kirkman High School. Following her high school graduation, Sarah went to Tennessee Temple University and received her nursing degree from the Chattanooga School of Practical Nursing.  She was a nurse and office manager for Drs. Kemp and Avitabile and worked in the medical field for over 30 years.  

She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church for over 25 years, but most recently became a member of Harvest Bible Chapel.  She was very active in the Children’s Ministry in both churches.  Her passions in life were being a nurse and living out her Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Barnette; and fiancé, Foster Powell.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tim “Timmy” and Jessica Aslinger; godchildren, Mindy (Bo) Henley and Steven (Crystal) Davenport, and their children, Emma, Cara, Maddie, Tyler, Halie, and Darius whom she loved and cherished; her two beloved dogs, Harper and Vic.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 1 p.m. at Ridgeview Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
