May 4 Bill Mize Fingerstyle guitarist and composer, Mize appeared with the emerging acoustic guitar movement in the 1980s (by way of the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler and the Winfield Guitar Competition), and has continued to developed a style and sense of taste that influences many of today's guitarists.

Applauded by critics and guitar enthusiasts alike for his composition, tone, emotion and smooth "multi-part" style, Tennessee guitarist Bill Mize is a past winner of The National Finger- style Guitar Competition at The Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. (Guitar Player Magazine has labeled this event the U.S. Open of guitar competitions) Bill's music is featured on the Grammy-winning recording, Stellaluna, as well as popular guitar compilations Windham Hill Guitar Sampler by Windham Hill Records and Masters of the Acoustic Guitar by Narada Records

May 11 Rubert Wates Rupert Wates was born in London, and he is "a ridiculously talented musician," said Kitchen Sink House Concerts in Arizona.He has been a full-time songwriter since 1992 when he signed an exclusive deal with Eaton Music Publishing. He has written songs in all kinds of styles for all kinds of artists. Wayne Slater-Lunsford, writing in Concerts In Your Home reviews, said Rupert is "one of those rare artists who leaves an audience better than he found them." Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange considers him "a prime figure in American music who's just biding his time until he's discovered." And Ryan Moore of AMP The Magazine wrote that he is "more compelling, more sympathetic and more emotionally accessible than many other modern performers."

 

May 18 Mark Mandeville & Rainne Richards Mark Mandeville & Raianne Richards are a folk duo from Massachusetts who sing songs which resonate with the lover of Americana and old country music, commanding familiar traditional melodies and poignant, introspective lyrics, and backing them with delicate arrangements on ukulele, clarinet, guitar and banjo. They began in the basements, coffee shops and art spaces of New England, and have since tested the stages of more traditional folk music venues, colleges, living rooms and bar rooms from Boston to Austin, Denver to Nashville, Asheville to Portland, and back 'round again.

 

May 25 Susan Enan Susan Enan released her debut album 'Plainsong' in 2009. In 2006, while demoing songs for the record, Enan began receiving worldwide attention after her track "Bring On The Wonder" featuring Sarah McLachlan, appeared on the second season of the Fox show Bones. The song was also featured on the shows soundtrack two years later. It took another 6 months to wrap up the record proper which features Enan's remix of "Bring on the Wonder" along with 9 other tracks. In June 2010 Sarah McLachlan recorded her own version of "Bring On The Wonder" for her seventh studio album Laws of Illusion.
